Reimagine this field.

The parents of your grandparents are youngsters; it has been been a hot day. Straw hats, summer dresses, bottles of lemonade. People gather, as the local ensemble celebrates this wonderful evening with a concert at the bandstand in the park. Shhh, it’s about to begin!

Monument for The Unseen is an audiowalk in augmented reality that revives and recreates a summer evening around the lost bandstand once situated in the Philips de Jonghpark in Eindhoven.

Monument for The Unseen is made with binaural audio. This is a special recording technique which is intended for playback on headphones to give a 360 degree listening experience. The original blueprints of this pavillion contributed to reconstructing its reverb, approaching the sound of a performing ensemble in 1930.
